After a fifth accusation of sexual abuse forced Ed Murray to resign as Seattle’s mayor this Wednesday, City Council President Bruce Harrell took over the position.
Murray’s cousin, Joseph Dyer, was the fifth accuser, saying Murray molested him when they shared a bedroom at his mother’s home on Long Island, NY, during the 1970s.
Harrell could serve as mayor through the year, but the next mayor will be decided this November as Cary Moon and Jenny Durkan vie for the post.
