The world’s largest educational organization for wine and spirits, Wine & Spirits Education Trust (WSET), has created a Japanese sake certification. In the US, the Sake School of America in Los Angeles is officially accredited and holds certification courses in cities across the US and China. This school also offers courses for “shochu advisors” and for those pursuing a “sake diploma” from the Japan Sommelier Association. Classes are conducted in English. They also offer extracurricular classes and seminars to get to know sake better.
