The Tacoma Hyakudokai ’s New Year celebration was held on March 3, at Miyabi Restaurant in Tacoma. Guests were introduced by Reiko Mihara, President of Tacoma Hyakudokai, and kanpai was conducted by George Suetsugu, Jr. The main event was koto by Miyagi-kai, performed by 94 year-old Ms. Kuniko Takamura and daughter Marsha with traditional dance by 90 year-old Ms. Kay Judd. Their youthful and energetic performances were inspiring and empowering, reflecting our motto “hyaku made hatarako (let’s be active till we’re 100).”
