Beethoven Symphony No. 9

December 29, 2018 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Seattle Symphony presents Beethoven Symphony No. 9 inviting Japanese Soprano singer Yasko Sato. Yasko Sato made her début in 2005 in Japan singing Leonora in Oberto Conte di San Bonifacio by Verdi while on tour for the Teatro Lirico Sperimentale di Spoleto; the same theatre subsequently invited her to sing Mimì in La Bohème, Leonora in Il Trovatore and for a concert with Leo Nucci in the 40th anniversary of his début. The beauty and drama of Beethoven’s monumental Ninth Symphony is alternately awe-inspiring and uplifting, with the Ode to Joy the crowning jewel atop this transformative piece. Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony for the ages is a wonderful way to end the year.
