Tacoma Buddhist Temple Bon Odori
Enjoy Japanese dancing, taiko drumming and tasty treats at the Tacoma Buddhist Temple Bon Odori Festival.
Dancers will perform Japanese
dances in the closed-off street in front of the Tacoma Buddhist Temple. Everyone is encouraged to join the easy-to-follow dances.
Drum groups, including Tacoma Fuji Taiko, will perform between dance numbers.
Get there early to purchase temple-made snacks, such as teriyaki bowls, somen, and shaved ice, before they sell out.
People can practice the Obon dances on Tuesday, July 15, and Thursday, July 17, 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the temple social hall.
