Japanese IT Group Hosts Career Event

Seattle IT Japanese Professionals, a networking group for local Japanese professionals in the technology industry, presented a career event for college women on Feb. 27 at the Nagomi Tea House. About 40 students attended to hear a panel discussion led by three IT Professionals women, who encouraged those who seek careers in the industry.

地元日本人IT関係者によるネットワークグループSIJP による女子留学生向けのキャリアイベント「IT ×女子 〜IT を通して広げるキャリア〜」が2月27 日、和み茶室で行われた。IT 業界への女性進出を応援する同イベントでは約40 名の女子大学生が参加、シアトルや日本のIT 企業で働く女性社員3 名によるパネルディスカッションが行われ、「IT 企業で女性はマイノリティだが、それは良い意味で目立てるという強みでもある。物事をポジティブに考えることが大切」と集まった女子大生にエールを送った。
