Unwoven: Threads of American Identity @ The Fishbowl

July 5 - July 26

Free

The Fishbowl Gallery’s current show ‘Unwoven’ delves into the complex question of who gets to claim the title “American.” It explores the experiences of those who exist outside the dominant narrative and who grapple with belonging in a nation built on a patchwork of histories. The show, open through July 26th, features works from QTBIPOC artists including yonsei visual artist Kri Yamada whose piece ‘A2849431′ reclaims and reframes elements from the Alien File of former Nihonmachi resident, owner of the Coffee Cup restaurant and Tengu fishing trophy winner, Carl Yoshiro Osawa. Join us for an artist talk on 7/26 6-8 pm or during regular gallery hours. Admission is free!
