Kodomo no Hi (Children’s Day)

Kodomo no Hi, or “Children’s Day,” is a fun and exciting opportunity for young people to learn more about Japanese culture. This free-to-attend annual festival connects children and families in the community with a shared multicultural experience through performances and a variety of attractions.
The theme of this year’s event is “Festival Fun: Traditional Japanese Games”, highlighting various games often found at summer festivals and shrines throughout Japan. Children can enjoy a fishing game, test their luck with the coin drop, or try many other fun hands-on craft-making activities and games. There will also be demonstrations and performances such as taiko drumming, martial arts, tea ceremony, koto performances, and more. Food will be available for purchase. Bring the whole family and experience the festival spirit at the JCCCW this May!
