Kodomo no Hi, or “Children’s Day,” is a fun and exciting opportunity for young people to learn more about Japanese culture. This free-to-attend annual festival connects children and families in the community with a shared multicultural experience through performances and a variety of attractions.

The theme of this year’s event is “Festival Fun: Traditional Japanese Games”, highlighting various games often found at summer festivals and shrines throughout Japan. Children can enjoy a fishing game, test their luck with the coin drop, or try many other fun hands-on craft-making activities and games. There will also be demonstrations and performances such as taiko drumming, martial arts, tea ceremony, koto performances, and more. Food will be available for purchase.
