Isan: A Japanese American Legacy Project – Art Showcase by Sheri Gosho
Join us for a captivating art showcase featuring Sheri Gosho’s latest project, “Isan: A Japanese American Legacy Project.” This poignant exhibition dives into the personal and historical stories of Japanese American incarceration, presenting artifacts from the camps alongside thought-provoking installations that evoke deep reflection and understanding.
Sheri Gosho, a talented local artist, brings her unique perspective and family history to life through her mixed-media works. Born and raised in the small homesteading town of Palmer, Alaska, Sheri moved to Bellevue, Washington as a teenager. Her educational journey in art and design at UW and in Los Angeles led to a successful 25+ year career in advertising, design, and art direction in LA and New York. Now, after raising two daughters and dedicating time to teaching art, Sheri is fully embracing her passion for fine art, drawing inspiration from her rich Japanese American family history.
