Fire Horse Ladies’ Summer Party ヒノエウマ女子の夏祭り

FIRE HORSE LADIES SUMMER PARTY
July 7, 2026
A celebration by Fire Horse Ladies, for Fire Horse Ladies.
2026 marks the return of the Fire Horse Year—a milestone that comes only once every 60 years.
For generations in Japan, women born in the Fire Horse year were burdened by an unfair superstition that labeled them as “too strong,” “too independent,” or even destined to bring misfortune.
The impact was so significant that when the last Fire Horse Year arrived in 1966, Japan’s birth rate reportedly dropped by nearly 25%.
T
he Fire Horse Ladies Summer Party is organized by the very women born in that year—women who have lived through those stereotypes, challenged them, and forged their own paths.
Today, we are launching a new movement called Celebrate in Orange 2026.
Our goal is simple:
To transform the Fire Horse Year from a year once feared into a year proudly celebrated around the world.
🧡 Let’s celebrate the 60th birthday of the Fire Horse generation in orange—the color that symbolizes the positive energy, strength, and spirit of the Fire Horse.
As the first step in this movement, we hosted the Fire Horse Ladies Hina Matsuri ( Girls’ Festival) Celebration in Tokyo this March.
Women traveled from across Japan to attend. Some had struggled with the Fire Horse stigma throughout their lives. Others had never paid much attention to it. Yet by the end of the evening, many shared the same feeling:
“I am proud to be a Fire Horse.”
Our next gathering will take place in Bellevue, Washington.
On the evening of Tanabata, July 7, Fire Horse Ladies will come together once again to learn, connect, share stories, and celebrate.
This event will be held in both English and Japanese.
Women born in 1966 are welcome regardless of nationality, language, or cultural background.
