DESCRIPTION:Jingoji Buddhist Temple will be holding a rummage sale on Saturday\, August 1\, and Sunday\, August 2\, as a fundraising event to support the temple. In preparation for the event\, we would greatly appreciate it if you could donate any unwanted items from your home or office. We will also need volunteers to assist with sales and other tasks on the day of the event\, so if you are able to help\, please contact the temple. The event is scheduled to run from 11:00 AM to approximately 4:00 PM.

DESCRIPTION:Enjoy traditional Japanese dance\, taiko drumming\, Japanese food and more at the Tacoma Bon Odori. This annual street festival features hundreds of temple members and visitors performing simple Japanese dances in front of the Tacoma Buddhist Temple to honor loved ones who have passed.\nEveryone is welcome to dance or just watch! \n4 p.m. Food\, beer garden\, and booths open.\n4:30 p.m. Obon service\, open to all.\n5 to 8 p.m. Dancing and taiko drumming.\n8 p.m. Memorial candle observance.  \nMenu highlights: teriyaki bowls\, cold somen\, Spam musubi\, strawberry mochi trifle  and pie. Credit cards only.\nFeel free to bring blankets or small folding chairs for seating. \nTacoma Buddhist Temple is at 1717 Fawcett Ave.\, in Tacoma\, three blocks up from UW Tacoma.
