SUMMARY:APIA and McDonald's Scholarship
DESCRIPTION:The last day to apply for the APIA Scholarship is on January 21st\, 2025! \nAsian & Pacific Islander America (APIA) Scholars offers a range of scholarships to support students who identify as Asian American. \nMcDonald’s\, in collaboration with APIA Scholars\, has been empowering college students through financial support and expanded access to higher education. This year\, it announced another round of funding. With the scholarship application closing soon\, we wanted to share a story about one recipient who thrived from receiving this. \nAmong the many scholarship winners is\, Daisy Panhilason\, a 2021 recipient who is now a nursing student at the University of Nevada\, Las Vegas (UNLV). Her incredible journey of resilience and transformation is nothing short of inspiring. She shared her story recently as a student speaker at McDonald’s APA Next Summit\, on a panel moderated by actors Ming-Na Wen (Mandalorian) and Ramona Young (Never Have I Ever). \nTo apply please visit this website: https://apiascholars.org/scholarships/ \nMore information: \nAPA Next: https://www.apanext.com/ \nMcDonald’s Scholarship Newsroom Post: https://corporate.mcdonalds.com/corpmcd/our-stories/article/scholarship-applications-open-this-fall-for-future-thought-leaders.html

SUMMARY:6th SEIJIN-shiki USA
DESCRIPTION:JIA Foundation\, in collaboration with the Consulate General of Japan in Seattle\, is proud to announce the 6th SEIJIN-shiki USA\, a Japanese-style Coming of Age Celebration. This highly anticipated event is scheduled to take place on January 19\, 2025 at Meydenbauer Center Theatre in Bellevue\, WA. \nSEIJIN-shiki is a cherished annual event throughout Japan. It provides a platform for the community’s emerging young adults\, known as new SEIJINs\, to be officially acknowledged as adults and new members of the society. \nSince 2020\, JIA Foundation has been dedicated to bringing this age-old tradition to the United States\, enriching it with JIA Foundation’s original and unique touch. \nThe 6th SEIJIN-shiki USA welcomes anyone whose birthday falls between 2003 and 2005. \nOur goal is to provide support and encouragement to these new SEIJINs\, who come from diverse national and cultural backgrounds\, as they embark on their journey into adulthood. With inclusivity at its core\, the celebration is conducted entirely in English\, with the vision of creating a new American tradition where coming-of-age celebrations become a shared common practice. \nParticipants from previous years have praised the celebration for offering a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of Japanese traditions\, allowing them to rediscover their own cultural identities. \nSEIJIN-shiki USA is an exceptional occasion open to all\, regardless of their nationality\, ethnicity or Japanese language proficiency.to share in the beauty of Japanese culture. It is also an opportunity to forge lasting friendships among the members of the “Class of SEIJIN 2025.”
