Rev. Dr. Takashi Miyaji, minister of the Tacoma Buddhist Temple is inaugurating Seattle Buddhist Temple’s Buddhist Studies Center.
Historically, Shin Buddhism has not been active when it comes to social issues. Is it merely a reflection of Japanese culture. This talk will explore the historical and doctrinal reasons why Shin Buddhist institutions have been slow to promote social engagement.
