Mochi Tsuki – The Bainbridge Island Japanese American Community Celebration
January 4, 2020 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm
The beloved Mochi Tsuki celebration returns to Woodward Middle School. Also returning is the award-winning Seattle Kokon Taiko drum ensemble, performing it’s crowd-pleasing performances at 12 noon and 2:00 p.m. No tickets are required, but to comply with safety regulations, both performances will be limited to the first 720 guests. Guests of all ages will enjoy hands-on traditional mochi making (and eating!) and learning about the culture and history of the Japanese American Community on Bainbridge Island. Mochi Tsuki is 100% funded by the community, with a grant from the City of Bainbridge Island and support from co-sponsors Town and Country Market, Bainbridge Island Ace Hardware and the Bainbridge Island Historical Museum. Donations are greatly appreciated.. Info: https://www.bijacevents.org
